Stormy and cold, the sea figures into Scandinavian sagas, legends, trade, and art. Inspired by the frozen waves of a polar sea, Martti Rytkönen designed Polaris to render those waves in crystal. Each votive, like a choppy ocean, is a different height and form. Polaris’s eccentric angles and surfaces refract the flickering candlelight, a little sea of ice lit by fire.
