For centuries, the dove has symbolized mankind's hope for peace on earth. Now the dove is portrayed in a sculpture decorated in a style dating back hundreds of years. An intricate pierced design on the dove's wings and tail is reminiscent of fine lace. Complementing the pierced china is a delicate pattern of raised enamel dots, set in swirls of pure 24 karat gold. Each drop of enamel is meticulously applied by hand in a technique developed in 18th-century France, then fired for lasting beauty.
